To utilize data-driven Learning Healthcare System approach to become a national leader in pragmatic trials and innovative patient-centered apps and analytics.
To be the happiest, most innovative and productive digital health lab in the world
To serve as a model for learning healthcare system, by leading through collaboration and innovation in development, use, training and evaluation of informatics to support medical research (T1, T2 and T3), improve patient outcomes and facilitate continuous quality improvement.
Seeing the need for medical applications, Dr. Ashish Atreja founded the Sinai AppLab in 2012 at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. By 2013, our first grant was awarded, closely followed by more. The Sinai AppLab now boasts extensive experience creating, implementing and evaluating technology platforms to address the needs of patients, health care providers, and researchers within the Mount Sinai Health System and beyond. The AppLab has a 10 member full-time technical team including a clinical informaticist, UX designer, app developers, and data analyst. Over the course of the last five years, Sinai AppLab has been awarded many grants from NIH, CDC, the City and State of New York, foundations, and industry. This support has allowed us to develop several health IT apps and to connect them into a digital health infrastructure.
